View Full Version : Burnout!
I have heard of pilots operating low cost airlines suffering from burnout, have there been caes reported in corporate aviation and if so, what were the causes and effects?

Aaarh, you'll know it when you see it...
Joy of flying gone, trouble getting up rested after 8 hours of sleep, less and less able to look yourself in the eyes in the mirror, professional standards slipping etc. etc.
Happened to me - but thank God I knew the cure for it

...from Bombardiers more reputable line-up of business aviation products :D Hell, I almost enjoy going to work again!
Presumably you mean a newer/faster/better equipped aircraft than you were previously flying ? What was it that really made the difference ? Was it improved comfort , reduced workload or less time in the air ?

No, the equipment is only secondary in my case. The best thing about the new job is the ability to do a good job and deliver a first-class product, not struggle to achieve a 25-min. turn-around and do some real flying for a change. Sure, the 73NG flies well and is good fun raw data into some god-forsaken hellhole that only "The webs favourite airline" could imagine people would want to go to - but mostly ILS to ILS, S2D2 in other words ;)
This looks like much more fun, and is a return to the roots for me :D - didn't know I would miss it so much untill I joined a "propper" airline. Thank God I'm back - fingers crossed it'll stay that way.
All the best,
