I have just been reading an interview in Flight Int, and Netjets are endeavouring to ensure that all their new aircraft times have identical equipment fits. They are buying some Falcon 7x aircraft so that should be interesting.

This was a major objective of Airbus to minimise cost of type-rating existing pilots on new aircraft and so reducing training costs. Coupled with that is the obvious safety implications of understanding the equipment in greater depth.

Even on the A380 the control laws are intended to resemble closely those of the smaller 300 series aircraft.

For those of you lucky enough to fly various aircraft types with your company fleet, does the they encourage identical equipment fit between time to allow you to benefit from the commonality ?
