Problems with Ground transfers

Does anyone else seem to find it extremely frusterating when the flight goes extremely well, only to be ruined by poor ground transfers from the airport to the Hotels? Passengers only remember the bad and this leaves a sour taste in the operating crews mouth. Can anyone suggest a reliable global top quality transfer service (if anything exists?) operating new mercedes or equivalent?

Is this a recommendation ? If so, can you just indicate that you are not involved in this company in any way other than a customer or prospective customer ? It keeps things objective :)

I suppose the problem is that to offer a global service, you are either franchising or employing third party contractors in any case , so is there is no guarantee of equal service over many locations ?
